Refund Policy

If SOSfinder isn't right for you, we'd rather give your money back than keep it. Here's exactly how that works.

Last updated: August 9, 2026

14-day money-back guarantee

Every paid plan comes with a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase — no conditions, no questions asked. Just email support@sosfinder.com.

1. The guarantee

We want you to be genuinely happy with SOSfinder. If you are not, you can request a full refund of your first payment within 14 days of the charge and we will approve it. You do not need to justify the request, and lookups you already made during that period do not reduce the refund.

2. Try before you pay

You do not have to buy anything to evaluate the API. The Free plan includes 50 lookups a month across all 50 states and DC, with no credit card required, so you can confirm the coverage and response format against your own real queries first. Free-plan accounts are never charged and so have nothing to refund. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.

3. What is covered

3.1 Monthly subscriptions

Your first payment on any paid plan is fully refundable within 14 days. Refunds are issued to your original payment method, and your access ends when the refund is processed.

3.2 Renewals

Automatic renewals are not covered by the 14-day guarantee — we email you before each renewal and you can cancel at any time beforehand. That said, if a renewal caught you off guard and you have not used the new cycle, write to us: we routinely refund these as a matter of good faith.

3.3 Credit packs

One-time credit packs are refundable within 14 days in proportion to the credits you have not used. Credits already spent on lookups have been delivered and are not refundable.

3.4 Overage charges

Overage bills usage you have already consumed, so it is not covered by the guarantee. If you believe you were metered incorrectly — for example you were charged for cached lookups, or for requests that returned an error — tell us and we will investigate and credit or refund any billing error in full.

3.5 Enterprise agreements

Custom and annual contracts follow the refund terms written into that agreement, which take precedence over this page.

4. Prolonged outages

Outside the guarantee window, if the API is materially unavailable for an extended period during a billing cycle and the cause is on our side, contact us — we will extend your cycle or refund a proportionate part of it. State registries occasionally go down at the source; those lookups are not billed, since we only charge when we successfully fetch a fresh record.

5. How to request a refund

5.1 Contact us

Email support@sosfinder.com from the address on your account with the invoice or order number from your Paddle receipt. We reply within one to two business days and approve qualifying requests immediately.

5.2 Or contact Paddle directly

Our order process is conducted by Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. You may also cancel an order or request a refund by informing Paddle directly at paddle.net, the customer portal where you can look up your purchase using the email address you paid with. Please note that for subscription services, the statutory right to cancel applies to the initial subscription and not to each automatic renewal.

6. How refunds are processed

  • Paddle issues the refund to your original payment method — we cannot refund to a different card or account.
  • Refunds are made in the currency of the original transaction; exchange-rate differences on your side are outside our control.
  • Paddle sends you a confirmation email once the refund is issued.
  • Funds are processed no later than 14 days after you notify us, though your bank may take a few additional days to show them.
  • Any applicable sales tax or VAT is refunded along with the payment.

7. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time from the billing section of your dashboard, or through the link in any Paddle invoice. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep access until the end of the cycle you have already paid for, and your API keys stop working when it ends. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current cycle; upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated.

8. Abuse and chargebacks

The guarantee is meant for customers evaluating the Service in good faith. Paddle may decline a refund where it finds evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or repeat sign-ups made to reclaim the same guarantee. If something is wrong with your bill, please contact us before filing a chargeback — a chargeback freezes the account and takes far longer to resolve than an email to support@sosfinder.com.

9. Your statutory rights

This policy sits alongside the consumer protection rights you have under the law of your country, including any statutory withdrawal period. Nothing here reduces those rights. Our full terms are on the Terms of Service page.

10. Contact

Refund and billing questions go to support@sosfinder.com. We aim to reply within one to two business days.
